| It all started when my wife and I were passing a furniture store in downtown Sacramento. She spotted an imposing picture of a cat in the window made of tile. The price was beyond our means at the time. I have always been fascinated with geology and the wide array of rocks the Earth can produce. This, coupled with my wife's admiration of the cat in the window, lead me to realize that I could produce something better for her out of rock!" I bought an old 24" rock saw and tumbler and proceeded to do just that. This lead me to create my first mosaic called Cat In Charge. My access to rocks was rather limited back then, and subsequently my first eight works used mostly the same rocks. Due to a new family and virgining business ventures, I ran out of time to continue my love of creating such mosaics. FAST FORWARDING 40 YEARS: Now mostly retired from a successful run at business, I one day re-realized my love of working with rock. This caused me to start creating new rock mosaics starting in 2001. This time, however, I am able to create works of art using state-of-the-art equipment and a wider and rarer assortment of semi-precious stones that I could only dream of four decades ago..." After creating several new works, Mr. Mosier finally ran out of room at home to display his works. This lead to the creation of the Rare Rock Mosaic Art Museum. Please stop by and share these one-of-a-kind creations, found nowhere else on earth! |
